Repetir respects your right to control your personal data. This page explains how to delete your account and what happens when you do so.
2. How to Delete Your Account
2.1 Accessing the Danger Zone
To delete your account, you need to access the Danger Zone in your account settings. You can do this in two ways:
Option 1: Through the Menu
Log in to your Repetir account
Navigate to Account from the main menu
Click on Danger in the account navigation sidebar
You will be taken to the Danger Zone page at /account/danger
Option 2: Direct URL Access
If you are logged in, you can directly access the Danger Zone by visiting:
/account/danger
2.2 Account Deletion Process
Once you are on the Danger Zone page:
Review the Information: The page will display what data will be deleted
Click Delete: Click the "Delete" button
Confirm Deletion: You will be asked to confirm by typing "Delete"
Email Verification: You will receive an email with a confirmation link
Final Confirmation: Click the confirmation link in the email to complete the deletion
3. What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, the following data is permanently removed:
3.1 Personal Account Data
Profile Information: Your name, email address, and profile settings
Authentication Data: All login credentials and authentication methods
Account Preferences: All your personal preferences and settings
Sessions: All active sessions across all devices
3.2 User-Generated Content
Educational Content: All texts, exercises, and learning materials you created
Progress Data: Your learning progress and statistics
Exercise History: All records of exercises you completed
Custom Content: Any custom phrases, tips, or other content you created
3.3 Space Data
Important: If you are the sole owner of any spaces (organizations), those spaces will also be permanently deleted along with:
Space Information: The space name, settings, and configuration
Space Members: All member data associated with that space
Space Content: All content created within that space
Subscriptions: Any active subscriptions will be cancelled
Billing Information: All billing and payment data for that space
Note: If you are a member of a space but not the sole owner, you will be removed from that space, but the space itself will remain intact for other members.
4. Data That Cannot Be Recovered
Once your account is deleted:
No Recovery: Deleted data cannot be recovered or restored
No Backup: We do not maintain backups of deleted accounts
Permanent Removal: All data is permanently removed from our systems
No Refund: Any unused subscription time or credits cannot be refunded
5. Important Considerations
Before deleting your account, please consider:
5.1 Data Export
If you want to keep any of your data, make sure to export it before deletion. Once deleted, there is no way to recover this information.
5.2 Space Ownership
If you are the sole owner of a space, deleting your account will delete that space and affect all members. Consider transferring ownership to another member if you want the space to continue.
5.3 Active Subscriptions
Any active subscriptions will be cancelled. Ensure you understand the implications for any ongoing services or billing.
5.4 Shared Content
Content you have shared with friends, family, or students will also be deleted if it was stored under your account.
6. Timeframe for Deletion
Immediate: Account deletion is processed immediately after email confirmation
Complete Removal: All data is permanently removed from our systems
No Grace Period: There is no grace period or recovery window
7. Alternative Options
If you don't want to delete your account permanently, consider these alternatives:
Temporarily Deactivate: You can simply stop using the account
Update Preferences: Adjust your notification and privacy settings
Remove Content: Delete specific content without deleting your account
Contact Support: Reach out to our support team for assistance
8. After Account Deletion
Once your account is deleted:
Cannot Log In: You will no longer be able to log in to Repetir
No Access: You will lose access to all your data and content
Email Available: Your email address may become available for new registrations
Spaces: Spaces you owned will be deleted (if you were the sole owner)
9. Data Protection Compliance
Your account deletion request complies with data protection regulations including:
Right to Erasure: Under GDPR, you have the right to have your personal data erased
CCPA Compliance: California Consumer Privacy Act requirements
Data Minimization: We only retain data necessary for legal obligations
